Young Choreographer's Night is a chance every other year for our dancers to showcase their own choreography. Dancers create every part of the dance and work together to perfect the dance. Dancers in all levels (mostly recommended for 3rd grade and up) are welcome to choreograph dances for the event and must follow the guidelines below.

Guidelines:

• Dances must be 0:45-2:00 minutes in length
• Dancers are allowed to be in up to 3 pieces at most
• Dances can be solos or include multiple dancers
• All dancers must be available to perform in Showcase of Classes on Saturday, May 19th.
• Dancers can borrow costumes from VDS, with approval from Traci Broman
• Dancers must fill out Choreography form (right) and turn in music to Miss Marissa by Thursday, March 15th

This year, teachers will select a few dances to be performed at the Showcase of Classes on Saturday, May 19th at ZPAC.

• Dances will be split & judged based on age groups (7th grade & under; 12th grade & under)
• Judges will look for choreography, cohesion, synchronicity, flow, and performance value.
• 1 dance from each age group will be chosen that night, but all others will be chosen based on showcase order, needs between other dances, and styles needing to showcase in the following weeks. 

Rehearsal Space

Dancers are welcome to use studio space when time allows, but a staff member must be present. If you would like to reserve/request studio space during one of the times listed below you MUST contact Traci Broman (Traci@VillageDanceStudio.com) 48 hours in advance so we can make sure to have a staff member present.

• Mondays (7:30-8:30pm)
• Tuesdays (8:15-8:45pm)
• Wednesdays (8:15-9:00pm)
• Thursdays (7:15-8:00pm)
• Saturdays (9:30-10:15am)
• Weekday hours before 4pm upon request (if available)

Dancers are encouraged to come on atleast 1 of the following dates to rehearse in the space, figure out costumes, and get feedback from staff:

• Thursday, March 1st (7:15-8:00pm)
• Wednesday, March 7th (8:15-8:45pm)
• Monday, March 12th (7:30-8:30pm)
• Thursday, March 15th (7:15-8:00pm)
