(Kids 5 & under- FREE; Dancers performing in the show do not need a ticket)

Any tickets purchased on March 7th- please bring email receipt confirmation. Tickets will also be available to purchase (card only) at the door.

All pre-purchased will be on a list at door entrance.

Young Choreographer's Night is a chance every other year for our dancers to showcase their own choreography. Students create every part of the dance and work together to choreograph their piece. Dancers in all levels and styles (mostly recommended for 3rd grade and up) are welcome to choreograph dances for the event and must follow the guidelines below. All dances must be registered by February 14th. Dancers will have a dress rehearsal at New Hope Church starting at 2:30pm. All dancers must be in attendance for the dress rehearsal. More details will be provided upon registration.

Guidelines:

Dances must be 0:45-2:00 minutes in length
Dancers are allowed to be in up to 3 pieces at most
Dances can be solos or include multiple dancers. All dancers must be students at VDS.
Dancers can borrow costumes from VDS, with approval from Traci, Marissa, or Chloe
Dancers must fill out Choreography form (above) and turn in music to Miss Marissa by Saturday, February 21st
- If you need help with editing or purchasing music please contact Miss Marissa or Miss Chloe by February 14th
Dancers will be required to have 1 teacher meeting prior to the performance. Dates & times will be coordinated with staff.

This year, guest judges will select a few dances to be performed at the Showcase of Classes on Saturday, May 29th at ZPAC.

Dances will be split & judged based on age groups
Judges will look for choreography, cohesion, synchronicity, flow, and performance value.
It is preferred that all dancers be available to perform in showcase, but not a requirement.

Rehearsal Options

The following times are *generally* available for open rehearsals at the studio. Please contact Marissa Castillo ([email protected]) or Chloe Broecker ([email protected]) 2 days in advance to reserve a room. Possible options include:

Monday 3:30-4:15, 8:45-9:15 (Monday daytime by advanced request only)
Tuesday 3:45-4:30, 8:45-9:15
Wednesday 3:45-4:15, 8:15-9
Thursday 3:45-4:30, 5-5:15 (for showing pieces), 7:45-8, 8:45-9:15
Friday 3:45-5:00, 6:45-7:45pm
Saturday 8:30-9:15, 10:45-11, 2-3pm possibly.
Sundays (availability varies)- parent would need to come with you (contact Traci for this option)
