Dancers enrolled in Ballet classes (Level II-V) are invited to audition for "kid roles" in our Nutcracker Short & Suite production. The show is put on by our Ensemble & Apprentice dancers, with a few dances that include our talented Ballet II-V dancers!

Interested in being a part of the show this year? Please read through all of the details below and fill out the audition registration info.

Audition: Saturday, Sept. 14th | 2-4pm

• Primary Ballet II & III dancers - Check in 1:45pm (Audition 2-2:45pm)
• Classical Ballet IV & V dancers - Check in at 2:45pm (Audition 3-3:45pm)

​All parents must come into the studio for a brief meeting at the start of each audition.

Students do not need to prepare anything for the audition. They should arrive at the check-in time listed above in leotard & tights (boys- black shorts & white shirt) with hair up. 

Mandatory Rehearsals are extremely important and the only way the dancers can learn the choreography, practice their formations, and feel confident for the stage.  If your dancer is not able to make it to all rehearsals for your part, we would love to have you as an audience member and join us again another year. 

• Battle:
  • 10/4 from 7:00-8:30 (45 minutes each, mice and soldiers)
  • 10/11 from 7:00-8:00 (30 minutes each, mice and soldiers)
  • 10/25 from 6:45-7:45 (combined rehearsal, includes costume fitting time)
  • 11/1 from 6:45-7:45 (combined rehearsal with Street Rats and Soldier Brigade)
• Mother Ginger:
  • 9/26 from 5:30-6:15
  • 10/10 from 5:30-6:15 (includes costume fitting time)
  • 10/24 from 5:30-6:00

• Everybody:
  • Act 1 (Battle) full run through- Friday November 8th 6:30-8:30
  • Act 2 (Mother Ginger) full run through- Saturday November 9th 1:30-4:00
  • ALL DANCERS - Dress rehearsal Saturday November 23rd 2:00-4:30
  • ALL DANCERS - Performance Sunday December 8th

If a dancer misses a rehearsal without prior notice, they will be asked to pay for a private lesson of $20 to catch up on any missed material. If a dancer misses more than 1 rehearsal they will be removed from the dance. 

COST: There is a $60 fee to participate in the Nutcracker Short & Suite, if chosen. This fee covers costume rental, Nutcracker shirt, rehearsal time, and meal/snacks on performance day. Fee will be collected once parts have been announced.
