Suggestion on where to purchase these items:
Kern Brothers’ Shoes– located in Boone Village (57 Boone Village)
Kinney Dancewear– Carmel/Noblesville (14753 Hazel Dell Crossing)
Shimmy Dancewear - West Carmel (9840 N Michigan Rd) - currently closed due to fire.
Everyday stores such as Target, Kohls, and Wal-Mart do also carry some of the items listed above. Be wary of amazon products (especially dance shoes)

CAMP ATTIRE

Camp attire varies by each camp. Most of the "Camps for Littles" recommend clothing that is easy to move in and that they don't mind getting messy as they will enjoy crafts, paint, movement, and playing outside! Further details on any specifics for each camp will be sent closer to the start of summer.

General Guidelines

Attendance: Regular attendance is expected of all students. VDS students are expected to arrive on time. Inconsistent attendance can affect a student's advancement and participation in the recital or showcase of classes. If a student must miss a class, please email the office at [email protected] or call 317.769.2223. Make-up classes are encouraged and are to be taken at the same level or the level below with the approval of the instructor.

Etiquette: Students are expected to be polite and courteous to each other as well as teachers and staff. Any consistently disruptive problems will be reported immediately to the parents. No chewing gum in class, and no loose jewelry.

Class Placement is based on technical merit. Age is used as a guide. Class placement is determined by the instructor for all levels. New students 9 years and up should make arrangements with the office for a placement or individual assessment.

Pointe is only allowed with teacher recommendation. Dancers must take 2 VDS ballet classes each week and be a minimum of 12 years of age. Other factors considered include technique, ankle strength, body development, and more. Safety is our #1 priority.

Parents Observation: Parents are welcome to watch class through the windows, as long as they do not engage and disrupt their dancer. We host Parents Observation Weeks 4 times throughout the year and invite parents into the classroom to watch their dancer's progress.
